Rachel Parent ~ GMOs Kids Right To Know – JUST LABEL IT!
ABOUT RACHEL PARENT:
From a very young age Rachel showed true compassion for the protection of animals, she also attended a small school that nurtured and encouraged caring for others by performing for the less fortunate, and elderly, including singing and playing guitar with the York Region Police choir.
When Rachel was 12 years old, she had to do a speech for all the students at her School in Aurora, on a topic that would be of interest to her. Rachel struggled trying to decide among topics such as GMOs, Animal Cruelty, Poverty in Canada and Global Deforestation. She decided on GMOs because of the opportunity to change so many lives, to better everyone’s health, and help improve our overburdened health care system. Rachel understood that GMOs are affecting the entire planet, from humans to bees, the earth, and kids’ futures. The topic of GMOs was a natural choice, as the situation was urgent and needed immediate attention. She won a medal for her speech.
Rachel then went on to prepare a speech for a live audience at a Right to Know event in Toronto and created a video which was posted to YouTube, urgently warning children about the dangers of GMOs. One of her last projects included the baking of a massive 48” fresh apple pie, made without GMO Ingredients, which she brought to St James Park to share with those less fortunate. Rachel is also engaged in various activities, such as voiceover classes, guitar, dance and every year she attends an animal sanctuary rescue camp, to help with the care of tigers, monkey’s and lemurs.
For Rachel the GMO topic is personal as she has in the past traveled to Northern areas of South America, and Brazil’s Amazon, sensitive areas that are now being devastated for the planting of GM Soy.

This one minute video is an overview of Rachel Parent, the 13 year old girl who lead a GMOs Kids Right to Know Walk on November 3rd in Toronto, to bring awareness to people and the Canadian government to add food labels to Canadian food supply that lets people know if the ingredients contain Genetically Modified Organisms or GMO’s. - Ask Rachel to speak at your school or environmental event
- Look for and buy ‘Non-GMO project’ labeled grocery items
- Ask your supermarket if they sell GMO sweet corn and tell the supermarket manager your concerns as they report back to upper management!

In Canada, there is currently a private member’s bill C-257 introduced by NDP (recently had its first reading in Parliament) to require mandatory GMO labeling RIGHT HERE IN THIS COUNTRY. All Canadians need to show support for this Bill. We need an equivalent Prop 37 marketing campaign! This is truly one of the most important issues we face as a species. I believe the impact of GMOs will be far reaching and we are just experiencing the tip of the iceberg at this point.

It means a whole lot to me that you took time out of you busy schedule to write a note in support of our cause. You are so inspiring to all of us, and I know that you have travelled the activist path against GMOs before. This problem is like a cancer for our planet. I call it Cancer Monsanto, or Bully Monsanto. I’m so concerned that I can’t stop until something is done, and labels are in place. One of the greatest ways for me to help is to educate other children. Unfortunately, Monsanto has infiltrated our schools, influencing subjects like Science, educating the children to believe that Bio Tech is the only and best way, and that is very wrong. I feel sad to see the world being so blind to this dark reality, yet I gain strength when I receive support from individuals like you. Thank you for everything you do. I hope you can join our GMO Kids Right to Know Rally scheduled for late spring.
Kudos to the kiddo with the gift for garnering attention for using that gift for the good. All of her chosen issues deserve public awareness.

Thank you for your comment,I agree with you Monsanto is destroying our beautiful planet,have you heard of the expression GMO,(GOD MOVE OVER )
Everyone now before is too late ,have to play a responsable role,not investing in so called Ethical funds yet some not Ethical at all,some are in fact connected to Monsanto ,also stop consuming prods that have GMOs ,I have no choice now, I have to fight for our future.

Rachel you and I met at the Total Health show and what a pleasure it was to see our young generation fighting for a better future and the right to know what we are eating. I am always here to support and we need to get Monsanto out of Canada……….. this company is the most evil company out there and people need to stand up against them ………. Just label it!
